Monzerrat Loza comes to the team with a passion for sustainable land management and environmental outreach. During her time in UC Berkeley, Monzerrat studied Forestry which sparked her interest in alternative forms of land management. She worked with the CA Outdoor Engagement Coalition where she managed outreach programs which served underrepresented communities in Richmond and the greater bay area. She went on to intern with the Parks Conservancy in San Francisco where she assisted with restoration projects and co-led weekly volunteer events throughout San Francisco parks.
As a Coachella Valley resident and the daughter of Mexican immigrants, she recognizes the importance of seeing oneself represented and welcomed into community spaces. For this reason, she will work hard to expand FODM’s volunteer opportunities to reach underrepresented members of our community.
