The Friends annual volunteer campout will be at Dos Palmas Preserve. The Preserve is a special place near the Salton Sea where native palms abound and desert pupfish thrive under careful monitoring. We will be camping around the pond near the "old ranch house."

Early Friday evening (Nov. 10, 2017) we will set up camp and hang out. Sorry folks, there are fire restrictions, so we will NOT be able have a campfire, but we can find creative ways to roast marshmallows if desired. We will have some of our local BLM friends and scientists to inform and entertain…so it should be a great weekend.

Saturday we will be looking for and learning about birds, bats, local history and current restoration efforts. Dos Palmas is not far from CV. For those of you who have not brought your camping gear, Saturday is a great "day trip" to enjoy learning and meet with fellow volunteers. Sunday is packing up to go home.
