Join SoCal Adaptive Sports, Friends of the Desert Mountains, and Desert Recreation District volunteers on a hike for persons with disabilities on the Indio Hills Trail.
This trail has unique landscape to traverse. For our intrepid adventurers, we will be hiking over the Coachella Canal, across some small hills through the wash and into the canyon. At your first sighting of the canyon, you will think this looks like a moonscape. The canyon starts to narrow. We hike the very narrow slot canyon, find the bee hive and exit the canyon to loop around and return back.
For those of you who enjoyed hiking in Carrizo Canyon, this will be another fun hike to test your skills. The trail is approximately 3 miles with very little elevation gain (250 feet) AND dog friendly. Bring snacks, 2 liters of water per person and your hiking poles. Wear close-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen. Due to public health regulations it is suggested that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.
