VOLUNTEERS! Invasive Species and the Desert Tortoise

The desert tortoise is a critically endangered species. The most significant threats to tortoises include urbanization, disease, illegal collection, habitat fragmentation and conversion from invasive plant species. Come learn what specific invasive species are harmful to the desert tortoise, why they are so harmful and what can be done to ensure the desert tortoise does not become extinct in the wild.

Meet at the theater in the Avenida Palm Desert 55+ community. Parking is available on both sides of Via Tuscany (main access road for Avenida). Directional signs will be present on the day of the event.
