Join Friends’ volunteer docent for this interpretative hike to the Morrow Trail Overlook to Lake Cahuilla. This is an easy hike through loose sand and established pathways.
We begin with a gradual incline, dip into a wash and then gradually climb and descend, ups and downs, along a rocky path to an overlook of manmade Lake Cahuilla. We will hike about 5 miles out and back over 2-3 hours. Along the way we will discuss Coachella Valley water supply and conservation, including native plants and their adaptation to our water capacity.
Bring 2 liters of water, snacks, wear closed-toed shoes, a sun hat and sunscreen. Sorry, no dogs allowed on this trail.
RSVP is required, and you must bring your ticket with you for check-in 15 minutes prior to start time. Ticket reservations begin 14 days prior to the event.
A suggested non-refundable donation of $5.00 per person is appreciated and encouraged to support our volunteer programs.
