Historically the area was a trade route for the Cahuilla and later for the early pioneers and gold prospectors. The area underwent many changes during the 1900's. Today Dos Palmas Preserve is a wildlife sanctuary. Phil Parker will help us learn about migratory birds in the area. Limited parking at Dos Palmas. We will meet at Von's, Highway 111, La Quinta.
