The Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, including the high desert areas, have a history of mining that dates back to the late 1800s. Mines in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto National Monument have produced asbestos, beryllium, gold, limestone, tungsten, copper, garnet, and tourmaline. Learn about the history of many of our local mines in this seminar.
