During the springtime this wash area usually has abundant wildflowers. You leave the wash and climb the mud hill. At the top it opens to a view of the National Monument. Along the way you will find many blooming shrubs. We will talk about the impact of the San Andreas fault on this environment. The trail is flat until you reach the ravine going into Hidden Palms. Enter the oasis, enjoying the many California fan palms and wildlife habitat. You will exit Hidden Oasis and follow the sandy wash to go up a steep incline to the top of the mud hill. DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS TRAIL. The distance is 3 miles with an elevation gain of 400 feet. Bring 2 liters of water, snacks, wear closed-toed shoes, hat and sunscreen.
RSVP is required and you must bring your ticket with you for check-in at 7:45 AM. Ticket reservations begins 14 days prior to the event.
Your tax deductible donation of $5.00 is appreciated and encouraged to support our volunteer programs.
